It is quite simple… if you love everything vintage and believe that ais the heart if the home kitchen, then this is the place to be! The Kitchen Front pays homage to our mothers and grandmothers who had to make the most of what was available in the 1940’s and 1950’s.

The actual name The Kitchen Front was a radio programme played during the Second World War to boost the morale of the nation with ideas on how to make the best of your rations.

We are an art studio, we run art workshops, we often have a pop up 1940s tea room, run amazing vintage parties and all the work for sale work is hand made by us. We are completely unique, and offer warm experiences in a nostalgic atmosphere.

My name is Clair and my art work is influenced by what surrounds me on the Cornish coastline and my love for the kitchen. Through my illustration degree, I was drawn to mid century designs and the revelation that a lot of my friends are secret bakers! Surf chicks and adrenaline sports on the outside, aprons and fairy cakes on the inside!

Let me share my passion for the beach, 1940s' social history and art so your kitchen can be your own little haven… surrounded with love. The kitchen is the happy place in every home.
