VINTAGE PARTIES
Welcome to our 1940s’ Parties for Hens, Grown-ups, Birthdays and Children are well known for our great attention to detail and then there is our 1940s events, where we delve into heritage and social history.
All our parties include a creative ceramic session followed by vintage afternoon tea and cake.
Be transported back to a time of simplicity and elegance. You will find the Bark House is a perfect venue. It is furnished with original vintage furniture and our afternoon teas are served on vintage china.

COMMISSIONS
Clair has a BA horns degree in Illustration and she is an absolute ‘creative’ at heart. Basically illustrations can be on any media, paper, canvas, but she personally loves creating designs and illustrating ceramic and fabrics. If you need a one off personal gift for a special person or occasion, then Clair will give you her best efforts to create it for you. Read more here.

COMMUNITY PROJECTS/ EVENTS
We hold lots of mini events here at The Kitchen Front… 1940s’ tea room weekends, history talks, art exhibitions, dances and fund raising events. We love our community and we believe in The Kindness Economy. Everybody is welcome.
We support programmes for local community groups and schools with art projects and regularly raise funds for local charities. You can find us at 1940s re-enactment events where we present ourselves as American Red Cross Volunteers, known as the Donut Dollies where we serve real coffee and donuts to the troops and do education display about food and rationing.
SAVE THE DATE
We will be running the huge D-Day re-enactment event BUDE AT WAR for the weekend of 17th September 2023. This will be a huge 1940s weekend paying tribute to those who trained for D-Day on our beaches in Bude. Keep an eye out for more information.
