WELCOME TO THE KITCHEN FRONT
Did you know that The Kitchen Front was a radio programme aired during WWII to boost the nation's morale about rationing? We believe that your kitchen is the heart of a home and should be filled with love, good food and beautiful things. And yes, we are a bit 1940's with huge admiration for the Great Generation and our grand parents who made us all who we are today.
Step back in time with us into our Grade II listed building and experience the nostalgia of yester-year. We are unique and not only do we illustrate all our own work, but we show you how to find your inner 4-year old with a range of creative workshops. You can book us for private parties and because of our passion for social history, we really do deliver fantastic vintage parties and afternoon teas.
Everything here is tailor-made for you, from bespoke illustrations on ceramic and fabrics to home made original WWII recipe cakes. We are known as a haven of calm and creativity and sprinkle confidence like confetti.

Our creative workshops are truly special! Join us for Baby prints, Family pottery painting, ceramic kitchenware design/stoneware, fabric block printing, or clay artwork. All afternoon workshops include artisan coffee/tea and a slice of homemade cake. You can book online or via phone.
We offer unique and very different 1940s’ and 1950s’ vintage style parties!
You will find out staff in period dress, a ration book menu and the strains of swing music playing Simply fabulous for any party.
All our parties include a creative ceramic session followed by vintage afternoon tea and cake. Many more options available such as live music .

We create all sorts of lovely ceramic pieces, fabrics, books, multi media art, but generally it sits on our shelves here at The Kitchen Front.
All our staff are creative people with fertile imaginations. Not kidding! We are going to post some of our one off pieces on line to buy, but you can of course request a bespoke item which will be designed to your specifications. We have an ETSY shop where we sell our ration chocolate, but will be adding pieces on here as we go. Please bear with us while we upload items. We really look forward to making something for you soon.
