BATTLE OF BRITAIN VICTORY TEA ROOM

SATURDAY 17th & SUNDAY 18TH SEPTEMBER 2021

The Battle of Britain took place in the skies between July 10th and October 31st 1940.

Here at The Kitchen Front, we create a 1940s’ style canteen in our atmospheric Grade II listed building. The bunting will be up, swing music will be playing and tables are laid with proper table cloths and vintage fine china. We put on

  • traditional afternoon tea, 1940s’ option available
  • high teas and cakes – original WWII recipes available
  • Proper loose leaf tea and artisan coffee, and Camp Coffee of course
  • WAAF waiting staff.
  • Live Music with the fabulous Miss Lizzie Hobbs

We can only seat 16 people, so please book in advance on 01288 350107 to make a reservation. There is a £5pp deposit* which is deducted from the final bill. You can make your reservation here and we will contact you to confirm your seating times.

We have a full menu with everything from a pot of tea or coffee and home made 1940s recipe cake to Churchill’s Tea Cabinet with a selection of sandwiches, savoury pastries, crisps, chutney, scones, cream, jam, cakes and tea or coffee. (Yes of course we have Spam!)

Beware, you never know when an air raid siren will go off, or when Mr Churchill might make a speech!
