The Battle of Britain took place in the skies between July 10th and October 31st 1940.
Here at The Kitchen Front, we create a 1940s’ style canteen in our atmospheric Grade II listed building. The bunting will be up, swing music will be playing and tables are laid with proper table cloths and vintage fine china. We put on
- traditional afternoon tea, 1940s’ option available
- high teas and cakes – original WWII recipes available
- Proper loose leaf tea and artisan coffee, and Camp Coffee of course
- WAAF waiting staff.

We can only seat 16 people, so please book in advance on 01288 350107 to make a reservation. There is a £5 reservation fee. You can make your reservation here and we will contact you to confirm your seating times.
Prices start at £5.50pp for a pot of tea and a generous slice of homemade cake up to £25.50 for Churchill’s Tea Cabinet which serves two.
Beware, you never know when an air raid siren will go off, or when Mr Churchill might make a speech!
